Loadouts Guide

Loadouts decide whether your weapon tier list knowledge shows up in real duels. This guide builds four practical kits for RIVALS and for Axolotls Modded Rivals practice places: a free starter, a close-range rusher, a sniper angle-hold setup, and a Permafrost flex. Each kit lists primary, secondary, melee, and playbook notes so you are not guessing in the lobby.

Redeem codes on official servers before shopping. In unlocked modded lobbies, equip the same kits immediately and drill them using controls. Cross-check gun roles on the Tier List Hub whenever a patch shifts balance.

Loadout principles

  1. Cover your weak range. Sniper mains need a close secondary; Shotgun mains need a mid answer.
  2. Spend Keys in order. Secondary → map-specific primary → melee → Contraband flex.
  3. One identity per session. Do not swap all four slots every death while learning.
  4. Modded ≠ transferred. Unlocked wraps in Axolotls Modded Rivals do not move to official inventory (unlock skins).
  5. No scripts. Injectors invalidate practice—see Scripts.

Build 1 — Starter free kit

SlotPick
PrimaryAssault Rifle (free)
SecondaryHandgun default, then Uzi when you have ~20 Keys
MeleeFists → Katana later
UtilityDefault grenade / whatever the lobby grants

Playbook: Take mid control, burst AR at range, spray closer, reload behind cover. This kit wins more beginner fights than any novelty gun. After FREE200 / BONUS / BOOST / roblox_rtc, buy Uzi before anything exotic. Practice thirty straight wins/losses without swapping primaries.

When to leave this kit: You consistently win mid fights and want map-specific optimization.

Build 2 — Close-range pressure

SlotPick
PrimaryShotgun
SecondaryExogun or Revolver
MeleeKatana or Scythe
MindsetDoorways, stairs, tight props

Playbook: Swing corners wide enough to land pellets, never hold a long sightline, and use Exogun/Revolver when the first Shotgun blast only chips. Scythe helps enter; Katana helps survive the trade. On open maps, this kit is a trap—swap back to Assault Rifle.

Modded tip: In Axolotls Modded Rivals, try every Shotgun wrap you like, but judge performance on kill timing, not rarity glow.

Build 3 — Sniper angle-hold

SlotPick
PrimarySniper
SecondaryExogun (preferred) or Uzi
MeleeKatana for panic defense
MindsetPre-aim, one clean shot, fall off angle

Playbook: Hold common head-height pixels, shoot, then relocate. If they rush, swap secondary immediately—do not hard-scope a Shotgun player in your face. Pair this kit with sound cues and the movement notes in Getting Started.

Keys note: Sniper costs more than Shotgun on official; unlock it after your secondary is decent unless you already hit crits in aim trainers.

Build 4 — Permafrost flex

SlotPick
PrimaryPermafrost
SecondaryUzi or Exogun
MeleeKatana
UtilityMedkit-style sustain if available in your ruleset

Playbook: Land the burst, capitalize on slow/freeze, finish with secondary or melee. Do not dry-swing during your own reload. This is the expensive official kit; in modded lobbies it is the best classroom for learning freeze timing without a 600-Key mistake.

Alternative flex: Swap primary to Paintball Gun if you prefer paint disruption over freeze and already track like an AR main.

Map-based quick swaps

  • Tight interiors: Close-range Shotgun kit.
  • Long corridors / towers: Sniper angle-hold.
  • Mixed pubs: Starter AR or Permafrost flex.
  • Party modded chaos: Anything fun, but review deaths with AR discipline afterward.

Progression roadmap (official)

  1. Finish onboarding and controls (guide, controls).
  2. Redeem every working code on the Codes Hub.
  3. Lock starter free kit for one full session.
  4. Buy Uzi → Shotgun or Sniper depending on your maps.
  5. Add Katana/Scythe.
  6. Save for Permafrost / Exogun flex.
  7. Track patch notes on Updates.

Progression roadmap (modded)

  1. Join a live place via How to join.
  2. Equip each of the four kits for a set number of duels.
  3. Screenshot the layouts you like; recreate them with Keys later on official.
  4. Ignore admin abuse rooms if you are trying to learn fundamentals.

Common loadout mistakes

  • Buying a flashy B-tier primary before a secondary.
  • Running Sniper without a close-range swap.
  • Copying a creator’s Contraband flex at Bronze mechanics.
  • Using script menus to “test” recoil—banned accounts cannot use loadouts (Scripts).
  • Forgetting that Community Wraps from codes are cosmetic only; they do not change tier.

Team / duo notes

In 2v2 or 3v3, pair one angle-hold Sniper with one Shotgun entry. Double AR is stable. Double Sniper fails when enemies close together. Call freeze windows if your duo runs Permafrost so teammates push on the slow.

Pick one of the four builds, play it for a full evening, then iterate. Consistency beats a locker full of untouched Contraband.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about Axolotls Modded Rivals, codes, and loadouts.

What is the best starter loadout?

Assault Rifle with the default secondary, then Uzi when you can afford it. Keep fists until your gunfights stabilize, then buy Katana.

What loadout should I use for close maps?

Shotgun primary with Exogun or Revolver secondary and Katana or Scythe melee. Avoid long sightline peeks.

How do I build a sniper angle-hold kit?

Sniper primary, Exogun or Uzi secondary, Katana for panic melee. Shoot, relocate, and swap secondary if rushed.

Is the Permafrost flex worth Keys on official RIVALS?

Yes if you already win with Assault Rifle and understand freeze timing. Practice the kit first in Axolotls Modded Rivals unlocked lobbies when possible.
